The Attallah Cross

Un gioiello unico, audace e vibrante che non passa inosservato e che può essere semplicemente un prezioso emblema di moda o simbolo di qualcosa di intimo, è stato acquistato all’asta “Royal and Noble” di Sotheby’s a Londra da Kim Kardashian per $ 197.453. Questa eccezionale e sontuosa croce di ametista e diamanti era uno dei gioielli preferiti dalla Principessa Diana, realizzata nel 1920 dai gioiellieri di corte Garrard. Lady Diana la indossò nel 1987 in occasione di un gala di beneficenza a sostegno di Birthright, un ente di beneficenza che lavora per la protezione dei diritti umani durante la gravidanza e il parto e decise di abbinarla ad un abito di Catherine Walker. Fu poi acquistata da Naim Attallah CBE e prestata più volte alla Principessa che la volle indossare in diverse occasioni, l’unica a poterlo fare e mai più indossata dopo la sua scomparsa, come conferma Ramsay Attallah, il figlio di Naim.

A unique, bold and vibrant, distintive jewel that can simply be a precious fashion emblem ora symbol of something more intimate, was acquired by Kim Kardashian for $ 197,453 at the “Royal and Noble” Sotheby’s auction in London. This exceptional and sumptuous amethyst and diamond cross was one of Princess Diana’s favorite jewels, created in 1920s by court jewelers Garrard. Lady Diana wore it in October 1987 to a charity gala in support of Birthright, a charity working towards the protection of human rights during pregnancy and childbirth, paired with a Catherine Walker dress. The cross was bought by Naim Attallah CBE in the 1980s and he was able to loan it to her several times over a number of years to wear at events, the cross was only ever worn by the Princess, and following her death, it was never seen in public again until now, as confirmed by Ramsay Attallah, Naim’s son.
