Nuovi cambiamenti a Milano

Everything changes and nothing remains the same, sometimes in form, sometimes in substance, so even one of the most iconic buildings at Milan, ex headquarters of the “Borsa”, the Italian Post Office and now the new Starbucks®, changes owner. This historic palace in Piazza Cordusio was built in 1901 and renovated between 2015 and 2018, now will probably not change in its current shape and formula. Let’s discover more than Starbucks® whose birth dates back to 1971 in Seattle. It was a small shop where customers could choose from the best coffee beans in fresh grains selected all over the world. The name was inspired by Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick”, in the book Starbucks was the first officer, and by the romantic love of the sea, evoking the maritime tradition of the first coffee merchants. The Mermaid was chosen as the logo because in Greek mythology she attracted sailors and here she attracted coffee lovers to an island called Starbucks®. When Howard Schultz visited Italy in 1983, he was fascinated by his experience in the Italian bars and wanted to recreate that convivial atmosphere. His Starbucks® had to become a place where to meet, to converse, to have a moment of relaxation and connection. The mission became to nourish and cultivate the human spirit, conquering one person, one cup and one city step by step.
