If you haven’t yet decided what to do on Ferragosto and are in the mood for something special, I’d like to suggest two tempting options for spending a special day.
A break surrounded by nature, in a park that serves as the setting for an ancient castle. Here, you can cool off in the pool, treat yourself to some pampering in the elegant spa and indulge your palate with the Royal Brunch menu. There are also off-menu options, including a platter of oysters, caviar and sashimi of the day’s catch, a large mixed grill of fish and shellfish, lobster with cherry tomatoes, spring onions and basil, and beef fillet with tartare sauce. And if you’re in the mood for a touch of romance, you can dine under the stars whilst savouring Chef Michele Pedrazzini’s dishes, as part of a gastronomic journey designed to celebrate seasonal produce and the joy of sharing a meal. If you’re looking for an experience that combines flavour, nature and wellbeing, I recommend the Relais & Spa Castello di Casiglio.
Another enchanting location is Castelfalfi, which this year is set to celebrate Ferragosto with an exclusive evening in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. The Olivina Restaurant, led by its Executive Chef Davide De Simone, will host a special ‘Four-Handed Dinner’ prepared in collaboration with the leading figures from the two-Michelin-starred Harry’s Piccolo in Trieste: Executive Chef and owner Matteo Metullio and Chef Davide De Pra. The tasting menu will be accompanied by a selection of prestigious Bellavista wines, carefully paired with each course to highlight the interplay between fine wines and haute cuisine.
