The design week was full of presentations and events and today I want to take you back about a month to show you some of the beautiful things I saw.
The professional love at first sight between the architect Giuseppe Tortato and Carolina Candelo of Dixpari has given life to a bold and original lamp: the luminous icicle LUCI*FERO. An object that evokes our childhood through the shape of the icicle and diffuses the light, giving an unexpected visual experience. It is made from recycled thermoplastic materials and packaged in a discardable wrapper. To turn it on, you have to insert it into the base and its shine will playfully illuminate the room. To present it, a themed gourmet dinner.
The sweet kitten Hello Kitty has made a new friend, Pé r o, and the “Hello” collection was born, playfully innocent, lovably fun in which cherries, strawberries, apples, creamy cupcakes and milk cartons sprout. For the occasion, Vicook, the esteemed catering house of the Cerea family, presented a carefully curated menu of Hello Kitty-inspired delicacies in the Banner boutique.
Palazzo Cordusio was enveloped by the beautiful immersive works of the artist designer Mirei Monticelli that evoked the Greek myth of Persephone and thus became the symbol of passage between light and darkness. An imposing luminous arch marked the passage between two worlds, representing the eternal return of the goddess between the earthly world and the afterlife. All around, dancing tongues of fire recalled the primordial energy of the dark depths, while in the center of the space a suspended radiant globe symbolizes life on earth. To complete the installation, a reflective mirror created by Costantini Design creates an endless optical illusion. All the elements of the installation were made with Banaca fibers, a natural material grown in the Philippines and hand-woven by a community of artisans in the province of Bicol.
Victoria Arduino organized an event to celebrate the encounter between innovation and tradition at Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery Milano in Piazza Cordusio. During “The Design Blend” the customization of the coffee machines of the E1 Prima Special Edition range in vegan leather, texture and rafi was shown.
DoDo invited us to an exclusive cocktail to celebrate the meeting with Gufram, an occasion in which design and jewellery come together in a surprising and unconventional way, giving life to a unique fusion of creativity and innovation. PRATONE® Forever saw 25 oversized green stems, meticulously handcrafted from soft polyurethane and covered with soft bouclé wool. A treasure hunt has also been organized in which to discover three hidden DoDo figures hidden in the Brera area. Each figure revealed clues and questions about the history of the brand, guiding the participants to the flagship store, where PRATONE® Forever awaited the winners for a memorable shooting.

Louis Vuitton presented exceptional creations from the Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades and Trunks collections at Palazzo Serbelloni, reinventing the art de vivre through innovation and savoir-faire. Then how can we not go to the brand new and splendid new shop in Montenapoleone? Roberto Cavalli’s boutique invited me to an aperitif in which I discovered their precious wine, the Tenuta degli De, born in beautiful Tuscany. Cova hosted Promemoria; Ralph Lauren covered the building in Via della Spiga with wonderful hydrangeas.
