I like to come back to this luxurious hotel that boasts 150 years of history, it, since 1863, has hosted illustrious personalities. It was chosen by diplomats and businessmen because at the end of the nineteenth century it was the only hotel in the city to be equipped with postal and telegraph services. In addition to Maestro Giuseppe Verdi, to whom the suite is dedicated because it was for a long time his second home, at the Grand Hotel Et The Milan there were: Manzoni, Cesare Correnti, Balzac, Rossini, Their Imperial Highnesses Dom Pedro II of Braganza and Empress Teresa Cristina of Bourbon, Enrico Caruso, Gabriele D’Annunzio, Maria Meneghini Callas, Vittorio De Sica and Richard Burton. In every corner we can breathe the history and soul of the city in a refinedly intimate and historically contemporary atmosphere. The Don Carlos restaurant is a tribute to Giuseppe Verdi; in an intimate and elegant setting, including paintings, sketches and references to the Teatro La Scala, Chef Mr. Mauro Moia offers traditional Italian and Milanese cuisine reinterpreted with creative touches. In addition, the restaurant has a secret place, unknown to most, a cellar under the street level in which a piece of wall and pavement from the Roman era are kept. A very romantic place to be discovered.
