Il Verdura Resort sorge nella costa sud della Sicilia ha sviluppato il Sicily Environment Fund grazie al quale ha coinvolgto le comunità locali e le cooperative di piccoli pescatori artigianali nella transizione verso pratiche di pesca sostenibili e rispettose del mare. One&Only Kéa Island nelle Cicladi ha avviato l’istituzione di aree marine protette al largo della costa per salvaguardare le specie vulnerabili. Meliá Hotels International (MHI) ha dato vita all’iniziativa #MeliaForTheOceans, contribuendo attivamente alla protezione e alla salvaguardia degli ecosistemi marini nel Mediterraneo, perché Meliá crede che turismo e sostenibilità debbano crescere insieme.
