I fantasmi del Castello di Vezio

La festa di Ognissanti ha origini molto antiche, ha un’anima ambivalente, sacra e profana, e si festeggia in tutto il mondo. Si pensa che nella notte del 31 Ottobre i vivi e i morti possano convivere, mentre nei giorni seguenti si celebrano i santi e i defunti. Quale miglior occasione per visitare un luogo particolare, il Castello di Vezio.

Le sue origini risalgono alla notte dei tempi e per questo rimangano ancora oggi un mistero. Si pensa che risalga all’epoca dei romani che lo edificarono come centro militare e strategico. In epoca longobarda la regina Teodolinda vi fece ergere l’oratorio di Sant’Anna e si dice che il suo spirito vaghi ancora tra le sue mura e nel suo giardino durante le notti senza luna.

Passeggiando nel giardino che offre una splendida vista sul lago di Como ci imbattiamo in alcune statue raffiguranti fantasmi con le quali si possono scattare foto super instagrammabili! E come il Lago di Loch Ness anche in queste acque si aggirerebbe un rettile marino preistorico, avvistato per l’ultima volta nel 20o3 ma si pensa che si aggiri ancora oggi nelle profondità del lago. Del Lariosauro troviamo testimonianza grazie alla mostra permanente all’interno della torre.

Dopo la visita al castello mi sono lasciata incantare dalla bellezza di Varenna, piccolo romantico borgo dove concedersi un pranzo delizioso e un caffè vista lago. Naturalmente d’obbligo una sosta per vedere scorrere Fiumelatte, il più breve corso d’acqua d’Italia, le cui acque color bianco-latte sono visibili solo da Marzo ad Ottobre.
