Ferrari at the RM Sotheby’s flagship Monterey auction

Con grande entusiasmo RM Sotheby’s ha annunciato i lotti che saranno presentati durante la sua asta di punta a Monterey, in California. Ci saranno alcune delle auto più sorprendenti mai costruite, tra queste  il terzo dei sei esemplari al mondo della Ferrari 268 SP del 1962, una delle sole due con equipaggiamento originale e una delle quattro rare Ferrari V-8, quella che corse a Le Mans nel 1962. E’ stata guidata da piloti leggendari come Lorenzo Bandini, Harry Heuer, Olivier Gendebien, Ricardo Rodriguez e ha avuto solo due proprietari privati dal 1969 ed è stata splendidamente restaurata. Appartenne a Bardinon, uno dei più importanti collezionisti Ferrari al mondo, tanto che Enzo Ferrari una volta disse a un giornalista che non aveva bisogno di un museo Ferrari perché esisteva la collezione Mas du Clos del suo amico Bardinon. Troveremo una splendida Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione del 1966. L’11° dei 12 esemplari costruiti con una coppa a secco di tipo 250 LM, motore da competizione Tipo 213, carrozzerie in lega di alluminio a scartamento sottile e uso di componenti leggeri. È stata tre volte vincitrice della 24 Ore di Le Mans. E’ attualmente dotata di un motore a sei carburatori ad alte prestazioni ed è preparata per rally e corse, ma i componenti originali possono essere prontamente rimontati. (Stima: $ 8,000,000 – $ 10,000,000)

Per gli amanti del cavallino ci sarà anche la seducente Ferrari 512 BB/LM del 1981, il 10° di 16 esemplari della “Serie 3” prodotti dalla Ferrari, fu consegnata al North American Racing Team di Luigi Chinetti e vanta un pedigree meraviglioso. E’ stata restaurata in modo meticoloso e ha partecipato al Concours d’Elegance dell’Isola di Amelia nel 2018. (Stima: $ 3,000,000 – $ 3,500,000)

With great enthusiasm RM Sotheby’s has announced the lots which will be presented at its flagship auction in Monterey, California. There will be some of the most surprising cars in the world, among them is the third of only six examples produced of the 1962 Ferrari 268 SP, one of just two originally equipped with a rare Ferrari V-8, testing at the Le Mans trials in 1962. This example boasts associations with legendary drivers such as Lorenzo Bandini, Harry Heuer, Olivier Gendebien, Ricardo Rodriguez, and has had only two private owners since 1969. (Estimate: $8,000,000 – $10,000,000). It belonged to Bardinon, one of the world’s foremost Ferrari collectors, Enzo Ferrari himself once told a journalist that he did not need a Ferrari museum because one already existed at his friend’s Bardinon Mas du Clos collection. We will find a splendid 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione. The 11th of the 12 built featuring a 250 LM-type dry-sump, Tipo 213 competition engine, thin-gauge aluminum alloy coachwork, and use of lightweight components. It is a three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is is presently fitted with a six-carburetor high performance engine and is optimally prepared for rallies and racing, however it could be changed with the correct original components. (Estimate: $8,000,000 – $10,000,000) For the Ferrari lovers there will be the seductive 1981 Ferrari 512 BB / LM, the 10^th of 16 “Series 3” examples produced by Ferrari, was delivered new to Luigi Chinetti’s North American Racing Team and has a wonderful pedigree. It has been meticulously restored and awarded it an invitation the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in 2018. (Estimate: $3,000,000 – $3,500,000)
