Coppa Milano Sanremo 2023

Questo weekend appena trascorso si è svolta la XIV Rievocazione Storica della Coppa Milano Sanremo. Bellissime auto storiche, accanto a vetture moderne e contemporanee, sfrecciano attraverso alcuni dei panorami più belli d’Italia per regalarci meravigliose cartoline e belle emozioni. Nella soleggiata giornata di giovedì le automobili si sono riunite all’Autodromo Nazionale di Monza per le verifiche tecniche, fare qualche giro in pista e godersi un pranzo tra amici. Verso sera gli equipaggi si sondo diretti presso l’Hotel Milano verticale dove si è tenuta la cena di apertura. Venerdì si è dato il via ufficiale alla gara, durante il percorso verso Sanremo gli equipaggi hanno avuto modo di fermarsi ad Asti, presso  Palazzo Mazzetti, per il pranzo. L’arrivo a Sanremo è stato festeggiato alla Vecchia Stazione e a seguire si è svolta la cena presso il Casinò. Sabato, dopo una sosta per il pranzo allo Yacht Club Marina di Loano la gara è proseguita verso Genova, qui si è tenuta la cena di Gala presso l’Acquario. Per finire domenica le premiazioni dei vincitori, Passanante e Molgora al volante di una Fiat 508 C del 1937, si sono svolte nella sede dell’Automobile Club di Milano.

A Monza, tra le splendide vetture presenti, spiccava per bellezza la Isotta Fraschini del 1923 di proprietà dell’imprenditore e collezionista Silvano Cima. Questo modello, la IF, fu il primo con motore a 8 cilindri in serie prodotto al mondo, era stata costruita per essere destinata a clienti facoltosi anche per iil suo prezzo altissimo per l’epoca. Le IF vennero acquistate da personaggi famosi come Gabriele D’Annunzio, Rodolfo Valentino e Umberto di Savoia. Una apparve perfino nella famosa pellicola di Billy Wilder del 1950, Sunset boulevard. Questa in particolare è una tipo 8 Torpedo con numero 341 di motore e telaio e fu ritrovata a Lima, dopo un restauro durato molti anni è stata esposta per 6 mesi nel ingresso del padiglione dell’Italia al Expo di Shanghai 2010, come simbolo dell’eccellenza del made in Italy.

Last weekend took place the XIV Historical Re-enactment of the Milan Sanremo Cup. Beautiful historic cars, alongside modern and contemporary cars, whizz through some of the most beautiful views in Italy to give us wonderful postcards and beautiful emotions. On Thursday, the cars gathered at the Autodromo Nazionale in Monza for technical checks, a few laps on the track and the drivers enjoyed a lunch with friends. In the evening the crews went to the Verticale Milano Hotel where the opening dinner was held. Friday the race started, during the journey to Sanremo the crews had the opportunity to stop in Asti, at Palazzo Mazzetti, for lunch. The arrival in Sanremo was celebrated at the Old Station and afterwards there was a dinner at the Casino. On Saturday, after a stop for lunch at the Yacht Club Marina in Loano, the race continued towards Genoa, where the Gala dinner was held at the Aquarium. To finish on Sunday the awards of the winners, Passanante and Molgora on board of a Fiat 508 C of 1937, took place at the headquarters of the Automobile Club in Milan. In Monza, among the splendid cars present, stood out for beauty the 1923 Isotta Fraschini owned by the entrepreneur and collector Silvano Cima. The IF were bought by famous people such as Gabriele D’Annunzio, Rodolfo Valentino and Umberto di Savoia. One even appeared in the Billy Wilder’s famous 1950 film, Sunset Boulevard. This in particular car is a type 8 Torpedo with number 341 of engine and chassis and was found in Lima, after a restoration lasted many years was exhibited for 6 months in the entrance of the Italian pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010, as a symbol of the excellence of made in Italy.
