Breathtaking landscapes, dream cars, competition and emotions are the ingredients that make the 1000miglia the most popular race. The race started from Brescia and the first car was a 1927 O.M. 665 SUPERBA. The first Time Trials were held at the Castle and, after the Stamp Control in Piazza Vittoria, the cars went to the Ghedi Military Aerobase, on the occasion of the Centenary of the Air Force. During the first day 5 stages were touched until arriving in the evening in Cervia-Milano Marittima. This event gives us splendid views of our territory and this year, after many years, Piedmont was also crossed. Also this year the 1000 Miglia Green was held, reserved for Hypercar, Supercar and Premium Fullelectric Brand, and the Ferrari Tribute 1000 Miglia with 119 cars of the Maranello house built after 1958. A special vehicle was admired, the Maserati MC20 Cielo of the Politecnico di Milano 1000 Miglia Autonomous Drive project, which traveled some sections in Autonomous Driving mode for the first time on open roads with Matteo on board Marzotto. The second stage of the 1000 Miglia started from the Pisignano Military Airport with a helicopter that held a soldier suspended with the tricolor in his hand. The crews had lunch in the Diaz Gardens of Macerata, passing through the Republic of San Marino, Pesaro and the Conero. Once in Rome, the cars paraded in the symbolic places of the capital in the presence of Rudy Zerby, Giancarlo Fisichella and Sonny Colbrelli. The day after the departure was from the Air Force Museum of Vigna di Valle and then along the Via Francigena they entered the heart of the Val d’Orcia and arrived in Piazza del Campo in Siena where the crews were greeted by the rain that made the landscape even more evocative even the route more difficult. On the fourth day from the Military Airport of San Damiano they passed through the Oltrepò Pavese and the Valle Versa before arrive in Pavia and crossing the Covered Bridge. Alessandria was the first Piedmontese city to welcome the historic convoy and to host the crews for lunch, among the iconic arcades of Piazza Garibaldi that recall the irresistible charm of the Belle Epoque. Finally, the crews arrived in Milan parading in Piazza Duomo and participating in the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of ACI Milano. For the last day, after the inevitable stop in Bergamo, the Capital of Culture 2023 with Brescia, the cars were welcomed by a crowd in Brescia. This year Andrea Vesco won his fourth consecutive title aboard the 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato; on the podium there were also two Lancia Lambda Spider Type 221. The best all-female crew was Silvia Marini and Irene Dei Tos, aboard a 1929 Bugatti T 40, which won the Ladies’ Cup. The 1000 Miglia Green was won by Paolo Piva and Matteo Ferraglio with Tesla Model Y. The Ferrari Tribute 1000 Miglia was conquered by Andrea Milesi and Giordano Mozzi with an F8 Spider, second Fabrizio Macario and Giovanna Di Costanzo with a 2019 488 Pista, third Celestino and Antonio Sangiovanni with a 2021 Ferrari Roma. The race was attended by a special pink Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica in support of the IEO-Monzino Foundation for cancer research. The ambassadors, led by Warly Tomei (board member of the IEO-MONZINO Foundation, creator of the initiative) and Dr. Viviana Galimberti (Director of Surgical Senology of the IEO, a great fan of cars and fast driving), were 6: Csaba dalla Zorza, Roberta Ruiu, Paola Turani, Giulia Valentina, Ludovica Frasca, Irene Saderini. On the evening of the 11th of June a charity dinner was organized at the Mille Miglia Museum in support of the Women’s Cancer Center, the first center in Italy reserved for the world of female cancers.
