RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2022

In questi giorni si sta svolgendo a Monterey la prestigiosa asta di RM Sotheby’s. Veri e propri capolavori su quattro ruote stanno facendo palpitare i cuori di collezionisti ed appassionati. Qualche fortunato riuscirà a possederne una.

Scopriamo insieme alcune di queste bellezze. Nel 1998 fu costruita questa McLaren F1, una leggenda automobilistica, con l’intento di farla diventare la miglior automobile stradale mai costruita, così si pose massima attenzione ai dettagli e si idearono progettazioni rivoluzionarie. Il primo esemplare uscì nel 1995 e vinse la 24 Ore di Le Mans anche se non era stat progettata pensando alle corse. Una vettura che conquistò anche il grande Elon Musk che ne volle una. Questa è l’esemplare con il numero di telaio 059 ed è l’unica F1 a lasciare la fabbrica con una configurazione unica dei fari, rivisitati in quanti i precedenti mostravano qualche difetto d’illuminazione.

La Ferrari F40 è stata indubbiamente la supercar più iconica degli anni 1980 e rimane un’icona globale. Michelotto ne creò 19 esemplari con la sigla LM (per Le Mans) potenziate per le corse e all’asta è presente una Ferrari F40 “Competizione” del 1989 ridipinta in Grigio Nardo con sedili in tessuto blu elettrico a contrasto e scudi Scuderia Ferrari dipinti.

Bugatti presentò il modello il Chiron al Salone di Ginevra nel marzo del 2016, il nome è quello del celebre pilota ufficiale Bugatti Louis Chiron; un’automobile dinamica e coinvolgente. La 110 Ans Chiron fu costruita in edizione limitata, solo 20 esemplari, per celebrare il 110° anniversario della fondazione di Bugatti; vernice Steel Blue opaca con accenti in fibra di carbonio blu acciaio; le ruote sono verniciate Nocturne nero opaco con emblema French Racing Blue; il “tricolore” francese spicca in diversi punti della vettura; gli interni sono rivestiti in bicolore Deep Blue e Bright French Racing Blue e Alcantara.

Ferrari nel 1952 cominciò ad offrire ad un numero limitatissimo di suoi clienti speciali la possibilità di acquistare una rara vettura di Formula Uno. Nel 1954 le auto della Scuderia Ferrari Works 500 F2 sopravvissute sono state rinumerate con un nuovo numero di telaio, una di queste è la Ferrari 625 F1, acquistata nel 1955 dal leggendario marchese Alfonso de Portago.

Della Ferrari F300 furono fatti soli nove esemplari e questa, telaio 187, risale al 1998 ed è la settima; è la vettura con cui Michael Schumacher vinse quattro i Gran Premi. Nei sui 23 anni di vita è rimasta protetta dal pubblico e non è mai stata restaurata o alterata.

La Shining Spyder”718-006 fu creata da Porsche alla fine del 1950. Nel 1959 fu realizzato un prototipo ancora più veloce e prestante, la Porsche 718 RSK Werks Spyder. Il suo motore originale fu danneggiato in modo irreparabile in una gara e dovette essere restaurato. La pelle originale non danneggiata, ma affaticata, fu  meticolosamente lucidata a specchio e per questo  soprannominata “The Shining Spyder”.

La straordinaria Ferrari 275 GTB/C by Scaglietti del 1966, rifinita in vernice Rosso Chiaro con interni Nero con inserti di seduta in tessuto grigio, è la nona di 12 vetture. Fu venduta alla società milanese Editoriale Il Borgo di Luciano Conti, tra le sue riviste pubblicava Autosprint; successivamente fu acquistata da un aspirante giovane pilota di nome Arturo Merzario. Nel febbraio del 1973 du acquistata da Emilio Gritti Morlacchi, membro dell’Etneo Veteran Car Club, un’importante organizzazione automobilistica e primo club siciliano riconosciuto dall’ASI. Questa bellissima Ferrari è stata presentata al Concorso d’Eleganza di Pebble Beach nel 2017 nell’ambito della celebrazione del 70 ° anniversario della Ferrari e al Cavallino Classic del 2018, dove ha vinto un FCA Platinum Award.

La Ferrari 410 Sport Spider by Scaglietti del 1955 fu pilotata anche dal mitico Juan Manual Fangio e visse una stellare carriera agonistica. Nel 2006 in California, durante un concorso, Carroll Shelby, uno dei piloti che la guidò in numerose gare, ha autografato il serbatoio del carburante, aggiungendo la scritta: “Il signor Ferrari mi ha detto che questa è stata la migliore Ferrari che abbia mai costruito”.

Infine l’Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 del 1933, una macchina meravigliosa, miracoloso di ingegneria veloce da guidare. Questa ha il numero di telaio 2111025 con una carrozzeria bicolore con rivestimento in pelle Vaumol. Il primo proprietario Roger Goldet pensava che quest’auto fosse “utile con le ragazze” e che la prestò alla contessa Vera Borea in occasione del Concorso d’Eleganza Femininie en Automobile.

In 1998, this McLaren F1, a legend, was built with the intention of being the best road car ever built, so maximum attention was paid to detail and revolutionary designs were devised. The first model was built in 1995 and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans even though it was not designed for race. A car that also conquered Elon Musk who wanted one of this. This is the model with chassis number 059 and is the only F1 to leave the factory with a unique headlight setup, revisited as the previous ones showed some lighting defects.
The Ferrari F40 was undoubtedly the most iconic supercar of the 1980s and remains a global icon. Michelotto created 19 examples with the initials LM (for Le Mans) enhanced for racing; at RM Sotheby’s auction there is a 1989 Ferrari F40 “Competizione” repainted in Grigio Nardo with seats in contrasting electric blue fabric and painted Scuderia Ferrari shields. Bugatti presented the Chiron model at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, the name is that of the famous Bugatti official driver Louis Chiron; a dynamic and engaging car. The 110 Ans Chiron was built in a limited edition, only 20 pieces, to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the foundation of Bugatti; it was finished in matte Steel Blue paintwork with steel blue carbon fibre accents; the wheels are painted Nocturne matte black with French Racing Blue embelems; the French ‘tricolore’ adorns the car in several locations on the car; Inside, the theme continues and the interior is upholstered in two-tone Deep Blue and Bright French Racing Blue and Alcantara.
The Ferrari began to offer a very limited number of its special customers the opportunity to buy a rare Formula One car in 1952. In 1954 the the surviving Scuderia Ferrari Works 500 F2 cars were re-numbered from their three-digit Works chassis numbers, one of these is the Ferrari 625 F1, purchased in 1955 by the legendary Marquis Alfonso de Portago.
The Ferrari F300 were made in only nine pieces, the chassis 187, dates back to 1998 was the seventh; Michael Schumacher won four Grands Prix with this car. In its 23 years of life it has remained protected by the public and has never been restored or altered.

Its original engine was irreparably damaged in a race and had to be restored. The original undamaged, but fatigued skin was meticulously mirror polished and therefore nicknamed “The Shining Spyder”. The extraordinary 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/C by Scaglietti, finished in Light Red paint with Black interior with grey fabric seat inserts, is the ninth of 12 cars. It was sold to the Milanese company Editoriale Il Borgo di Luciano Conti, among its magazines published Autosprint; later it was bought by an aspiring young pilot named Arturo Merzario. In February 1973 it was bought by Emilio Gritti Morlacchi, a member of the Etneo Veteran Car Club, an important automotive organization and the first Sicilian club recognized by the ASI. This beautiful Ferrari was presented at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2017 as part of Ferrari’s 70th anniversary celebration and at the 2018 Cavallino Classic, where it won an FCA Platinum Award.
The 1955 Ferrari 410 Sport Spider by Scaglietti was also driven by the legendary Juan Manual Fangio and lived a stellar racing career. In 2006 in California, during a competition, Carroll Shelby, one of the drivers who led it in numerous races, autographed the fuel tank, adding the inscription: “Mr. Ferrari told me that this was the best Ferrari he have ever built”. Finally the 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, a wonderful, miraculous machine of engineering fast to drive. This has the chassis number 2111025 with a two-tone body with Vaumol leather upholstery. The first owner Roger Goldet thought that this car was “useful with girls” and that he lent it to Countess Vera Borea on the occasion of the Concorso d’Eleganza Femininie en Automobile.
