Il lusso esclusivo della neve

La bellezza della stagione invernale si esprime nei suoi paesaggi innevati, nel tepore dei camini, in quella luce fredda tutta particolare e nel cielo terso di una bella giornata di sole. La regina di questo periodo è la neve che con il suo candido manto rende più magico ciò che abbraccia. La neve è delicata, fragile e temporanea poiché svanisce con il calore. In una delle location più esclusive del turismo invernale, la splendida St. Moritz, l’Hotel storico e leggendario nel quale tutto ebbe inizio, il  Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, insieme a Moon Boot, hanno voluto ricordarci la bellezze delle vacanze invernali in montagna e la fragilità dell’ecosistema alla quale queste sono legate.

La scultrice italiana Vania Cusini ha realizzato una scultura fatta di neve che rappresenta un Moon Boot gigante; questa installazione potrà essere ammirata dai residenti, ospiti e visitatori nell’area tra il Kulm Hotel St Moritz e il Kulm Country Club, per l’intera stagione e finché il clima lo permetterà.

Nel 1864 il Kulm Hotel fu il primo a credere nell’inverno di St Moritz e a farne innamorare il mondo intero. La storia ci racconta che il suo fondatore, Johannes Badrutt, mentre sedeva accanto al fuoco con quattro turisti inglesi, non particolarmente amanti del freddo, fece con loro una scommessa: l’anno successivo al loro ritorno si sarebbero goduti un soggiorno memorabile, altrimenti lo avrebbe rimborsato loro. Gli ospiti ritornarono e s’innamorarono a tal punto che rimasero da dicembre a Pasqua e diffusero la notizia, così St Moritz divenne una delle mete più amate del turismo invernale. La sala da pranzo del Kulm Hotel St. Moritz fu la prima stanza in Svizzera ad essere illuminata da luce elettrica.

Questo 5 stelle lusso a dicembre 2018 ha presentato 40 nuove camere e suite completamente rinnovate da Pierre-Yves Rochon ed è stato eletto “Hotel of The Year 2018” dall’edizione svizzera della guida GaultMillau.

La nascita di Moon Boot è stata ispirata dai primi passi che l’uomo ha fatto sulla Luna e questo iconico scarpone après-ski ha superato i confini delle montagne, raggiungendo i centri cittadini, le passerelle della moda e i musei d’arte moderna.

The beauty of the winter season is expressed in its snowy landscapes, in the warmth of chimneys, in its very particular cold light and in the clear sky of a beautiful sunny day. The winter queen is the snow that with its white mantle, it makes more magical the landscape. The snow is delicate, fragile and temporary because it vanishes with warm. In one of the most exclusive winter locations, the splendid St. Moritz, the historic and legendary Hotel in which the winter tourism began, the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, with Moon Boot, wanted to remind us the beauty of winter holidays in the mountains and their fragile ecosystem. The Italian sculptor Vania Cusini has created a sculpture with the snow and it represents a giant Moon Boot; this installation can be admired by residents, guests and visitors in the area between the Kulm Hotel St Moritz and the Kulm Country Club for the winter season and as long as the weather allows. In 1864 the Kulm Hotel was the first to believe in the winter at St Moritz and make it so famous and loved. The story tells us that its founder, Johannes Badrutt, sat near the fire place with four English tourists, not particularly cold lovers, made a bet with them: the year after their had to return during winter  and they would have enjoyed a memorable stay, otherwise he would refund them. Guests returned and loved this place, so they protracted their holidays from December to Easter and spread the news, so St Moritz became one of winter tourism’s most beloved destinations. The dining room of the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz was the first room in Switzerland to be illuminated by electric light. In December 2018 this 5-star luxury presented 40 new rooms and suites completely renovated by Pierre-Yves Rochon and was elected “Hotel of the Year 2018″ by the Swiss edition of the GaultMillau. The moon boot’s birth was inspired by the first man steps man on the Moon and this iconic après-ski boot has crossed the boundaries of the mountains, arriving at the city centers, fashion catwalks and modern art museums. ” I live not in myself, but I become portion of that around me; and to me high mountains are a feeling,” (Lord Byron)
