Ballo Debuttanti Lago Maggiore

La bellissima Villa Giulia fu costruita da Bernardino Branca, inventore del Fernet Branca; dopo essere appartenuta al generale Müller tornò alla famiglia Branca che vi apportò delle modifiche e le diede l’attuale nome in omaggio a Giulia, moglie di Giuseppe Branca. Alla morte del marito Giulia vi risiedette con il secondo marito, il duca Francesco Melzi d’Eril e nel 1904 fece ampliare il lato occidentale mantenendo lo stile originario della facciata e aggiungendo decorazioni in stile Liberty.

A Villa e nel suo rigoglioso giardino affacciato sulle rive del lago si è tenuto il Ballo delle Debuttanti Lago Maggiore. Dopo la discesa di debuttanti e cavalieri dalla maestosa scala le coppie hanno partecipato all’ouverture nel giardino. Qui gli ospiti sono stati prima intrattenuti da performances di danza sulle note di una giovanissima e talentuosa orchestra e poi da un fresco aperitivo. Al termine si è tenuta la cena di gala all’interno della villa durante la quale sono stati raccolti fondi destinati alla solidarietà.

Questo evento ha sempre posto grande attenzione alla cultura, alla solidarietà ed ai temi sociali. Quest’anno in particolare si è voluto porre l’accento sul tema della violenza sulle donne. Presenti tre Onlus: WE WILL CARE ONLUS che si occupa del recupero dei malati oncologici attraverso percorsi innovativi; AMARENE ONLUS che si occupa della prevenzione e cura delle malattie renali, una delle debuttanti ha subito il trapianto del rene; AVIS Verbania che opera per la tutela delle donne vittime di violenza. Presenti le autorità locali tra le quali il sindaco di Verbania, Silvia Marchionini.

The beautiful Villa Giulia was built by Bernardino Branca, inventor of Fernet Branca; after having belonged to General Müller it returned to the Branca family who made changes and gave it its current name in homage to Giulia, wife of Giuseppe Branca. At the death of her husband Giulia resided there with her second husband, Duke Francesco Melzi d’Eril and in 1904 she enlarged the western side maintaining the original style of the façade and adding decorations in Liberty style. The Ball of the Debutantes Lake Maggiore was held at Villa and in its lush garden overlooking the shores of the lake. After the descent of debutantes and knights from the majestic staircase the couples participated in the overture in the garden. Here the guests were first entertained by dance performances on the notes of a very young and talented orchestra and then by an aperitif. At the end there was a gala dinner inside the villa during which funds were collected for solidarity. This event has always paid great attention to culture, solidarity and social issues. This year, in particular, we wanted to focus on the issue of violence against women. There are three non-profit organizations: WE WILL CARE ONLUS which deals with the recovery of cancer patients through innovative paths; AMARENE ONLUS that deals with the prevention and treatment of kidney disease, one of the debutantes has undergone kidney transplantation; AVIS Verbania which works for the protection of women victims of violence. Local authorities were present, including the mayor of Verbania, Silvia Marchionini.
