La 1000miglia per la prima volta dopo 70anni percorrerà le strade di Milano. Fu proprio a Milano, a un tavolino dello storico Biffi, che nacque l’idea di questa gara. Uno dei tanti giorni in cui tre dei sui fondatori (Franco Mazzotti, Aymo Maggi e Renzo Castagneto) partirono da Brescia per raggiungere Milano, i tre decisero di gareggiare con il treno. Giunti nello storico caffè chiacchierarono con il loro amico giornalista Giovanni Canestrini e cominciò a farsi strada un progetto che poi divenne realtà. La corsa più bella del mondo, definita da Enzo Ferrari “un museo viaggiante unico al mondo”, passerà quindi dalla città meneghina il 19 Maggio per poi arrivare al circuito del Museo Alfa Romeo. Questa tappa è stata voluta per rendere omaggio alla vittoria, nel 1928, di Campari e Ramponi a bordo dell’Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 SS.
La gara di regolarità simbolo dell’eccellenza italiana si svolgerà su 1.743 km e quattro tappe da Brescia a Roma e ritorno, con la partecipazione di 450 vetture e 34 diversi Paesi. Per l’occasione si terrà il Tributo di Ferrari alla 1000miglia e il Mercedes-Benz 1000 Miglia Challenge.
