La Milano City Life di un tempo

Il quartiere City Life a Milano è conosciuto dai più per i tre nuovi grattacieli, per il centro commerciale e per i prestigiosi palazzi residenziali, tutte opere create dagli archistar Daniel Libeskind, Arata Isozaki e Zaha Hadid. Qui ora vivono molte personalità dello star system e dello sport.

Ma passeggiando per questa zona, si possono ammirare veri e propri gioielli architettonici, verso i quali il nostro sguardo, spesso distratto, dovrebbe soffermarsi. Nella grande piazza si può ammirare la fontana delle Quattro Stagioni di cui l’architetto Renzo Gerla fece il primo schizzo nel 1927. Questa fontana era stata commissionata in occasione dell’inaugurazione della Fiera Campionaria, fu realizzata con pietra di Sarnico e prevedeva giochi d’acqua, il riciclo della stessa e illuminazione. Per le statue ci si rivolse ,all’ultimo momento a causa di imprevisti, a uno scultore di Vicenza. Tanti i palazzi d’epoca, avvolti da un alone di mistero a causa mancanza d’informazioni, che ci raccontano di un passato ancora attuale e che mette sottolinea la straordinaria convivenza tra passato e presente.

Many VIP now live here. But walking through this area, we can admire a some architectural jewels, towards which our gaze, often distracted, should linger. In the large square, Piazzale Giulio Cesare, we can admire the Four Seasons fountain, its first sketch had made in 1927 by the architect Renzo Gerla. This fountain was commissioned for the inauguration of the “Fair, it was made with Sarnico stone and included water features, a recirculation hydraulic systems and lighting. The statues, at the last moment due to unforeseen events, had been made by a sculpture professor who had lived at Vicenza. Many historic palaces, shrouded in an aura of mystery due to lack of informations, tell us about a past that is still current and that emphasizes the extraordinary coexistence between past and present.
