Inauguration “Place du Casino”

5 Giugno, 2020 Published in Events

Monte-Carlo is changing and gradually some of its iconic places will appear completely renovated. On the 2nd of June, the prestigious and famous “Place du Casino” showed its new image. Its inauguration also marked the return to life in the Principality, after the forced closure caused by the current health crisis. This isa part of an ambitious project to project the Monegasque city into the 21st century and consecrate it as the most exclusive destination in Europe. Three guidelines were followed in the new architecture of the square: to give priority to pedestrians who can walk peacefully; preserve the track of the Formula 1 Grand Prix; allow VIP customers of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group to park their luxury cars on the square, arousing the admiration of passers-by. On this day an emblematic place, the Brasserie of Café de Paris Monte-Carlo, considered the living room of the Principality reopens. An event made even more exceptional by the presence of LL. AA.SS. Princess Stéphanie, Mrs. Camille Gottlieb, Mrs. Pauline Ducruet, Mr Louis Ducruet, Mr Andrea Casiraghi, Mr Pierre Casiraghi, Mr Gareth Wittstock and some of the Monegasque authorities. On this occasion Jean-Luc Biamonti, has thanked the Monegasque institutions who management the crisis caused by the Covid-19, in particular to the representatives of the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace, the Croix Rouge Monégasque, the Sapeurs-Pompiers, the Sureté Publique and the Société Monégasque d’Assainissement (SMA). Each guest received a mask, offered by the Princess Princesse Charlène Foundation; the banner with the now famous #Strongtogether, launched by the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group at the beginning of the crisis; the “pain de vie”, a forgotten specialty, also known as the “Main de Nice”, and immortalized in 1952 by the famous cliché of Robert Doisneau “Les Pains de Picasso”. This tasty olive oil bread, freshly flavored with lemon, has been revisited by Thomas Subrin, chef baker of the Group.
