“I percorsi del design” del Cav. Giorgetto Giugiaro

Il Gran ballo della Venaria Reale è stata l’occasione speciale per incontrare il Cav. Giorgetto Giugiaro. Durante la serata di Gala gli è stato conferito il “Premio Costanzo”, riconosciutogli per le considerevoli opere di design realizzate durante la sua lunghissima carriera. Il giorno dopo siamo stati invitati ad assistere alla conferenza “I percorsi del design”, organizzata appositamente per gli Allievi Ufficiali dell’Accademia Navale di Livorno. Le coinvolgenti parole del Cavaliere ci hanno fatto ricordare i progetti più significativi da lui ideati, progetti straordinari e all’avanguardia che hanno segnato la storia dell’automobilismo. Per Alfa Romeo disegnò alcuni iconici modelli come la 2600 Sprint (1959), l’Alfasud (1972) e la Giulia Sprint GT/GTV (1963). Per le altre case automobilistiche, ad esempio la Lancia Thema, la Maserati la Ghibli, la Bugatti EB 112, la Ferrari GG50 e la mitica DeLorean DMC-12 utilizzata nel film “Ritorno al Futuro”. La sua Lotus Esprit S1 del 1972 fu guidata da Roger Moore nel Film di 007 “The Spy Who loved” nel 1977 e poi acquistata all’asta da Elon Musk nel 2014 per oltre 600.000 Euro. L’ultima creazione di Giorgetto e Fabrizio Giugiaro è la GFG Style “Sibylla”, una concept car creata insieme alla Envision, azienda cinese di energie rinnovabili. Un’auto dinamica e sportiva che combina il confort di un Suv con l’eleganza di una berlina di lusso. Come peculiarità troviamo una cupola di vetro fotocromatico, il primo parabrezza semovente al mondo, per consentire al guidatore e al passeggero anteriore di salire e scendere comodamente dall’auto, e due portiere con apertura ad ali di gabbiano. Il nome Sybilla non solo è un tributo a Maria Sibilla, madre di Giorgetto Giugiaro, ma è anche un richiamo alle sibille, donne che, secondo la mitologia greca, prevedevano il futuro.

Non tutti sanno che il Cav. Giorgetto Giugiaro fu incaricato dalla Voiello di creare un nuovo formato di pasta che seguisse i canoni dell’eccellenza stilistica Made in Italy, invidiata (ancora oggi) dal mondo intero. Ne nacquero così le Marille, un capolavoro d’ingegneria culinaria, pensata affinché le sue scanalature potessero  trattenere i condimenti e non assorbirli. Realizzò anche la bottiglia dell’Acqua San Bernardo, bella da vedere, da toccare e da servire. Con le sue gocce di design diventò famosa nel mondo.

The “Gran ballo della Venaria Reale” was the special occasion to meet the Cavs. Giorgetto Giugiaro. During the Gala evening he was awarded the “Premio Costanzo”, recognized for the considerable design works made during his very long career. The Giugiaro’s engaging words reminded us of the most significant projects he devised, extraordinary and cutting-edge projects that have marked the history of motorsport. For Alfa Romeo he designed some iconic models such as the 2600 Sprint (1959), Alfasud (1972) and the Giulia Sprint GT/GTV (1963). The latest creation of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro is the GFG Style “Sibylla”, a concept car created with Envision, a Chinese renewable energy company. A dynamic and sporty car that combines the comfort of a SUV with the elegance of a luxury sedan. We could admire a photochromatic glass dome, the world’s first self-propelled windshield, to allow the driver and front passenger to get in and out of the car comfortably, and two “sea gull wings” doors. The name Sybilla is not only a tribute to Maria Sibilla, mother of Giorgetto Giugiaro, but is also a reference to sibyls, women who, according to Greek mythology, foresaw the future. Not everyone knows that the Cavs. Giorgetto Giugiaro was commissioned by Voiello to create a new pasta format that followed the canons of stylistic Made in Italy excellence, envied allover the world. The result was the Marille, a masterpiece of culinary engineering, designed to retain the toppings and not absorb them. He also makes the St. Bernard Water’s bottle, beautiful to see, to touch and to serve. With its design drops it becames famous in the world.
