“Circus 1768” by Sambuco

Trasformare una fantasia in un oggetto da possedere è qualcosa di incredibilmente bello. Lasciare correre l’immaginazione ci porta in mondi spettacolari, dai quali prima o poi dobbiamo allontanaci per tornare alla realtà. Se però riusciamo a portare con noi un pezzetto di quel mondo, realizzando un piccola opera d’arte che possiamo vedere, toccare e ammirare tutti i giorni, abbiamo compiuto una magia. Sambuco ci è riuscito creando la collezione “Circus 1768”. Fu questo l’anno in cui Philip Astley, il “padre del circo moderno”, realizzò la prima la pista da circo. Militare del 15° battaglione dei Light Dragoons, armigeri a cavallo, quando lasciò l’esercito iniziò a tenere spettacoli equestri all’aperto a Londra. Fu a seguito dei numerosi allenamenti che intuì che la forza centrifuga lo aiutava a stare in piedi sul suo cavallo purosangue galoppando in un cerchio. Nel 1799 decise di porre una copertura sull’arena degli spettacoli e nacque così il famoso e iconico tendone del circo.

Questa è l’affascinante storia di come è nato quello che è, da sempre, lo spettacolo più magico del mondo. Uno spettacolo che ammalia grandi e piccini con i suoi colori sgargianti, le mille luci, i divertenti giochi e le mirabolanti acrobazie. Tutti quei momenti entusiasmanti, i ricordi e i desideri espressi possono essere racchiusi all’interno di splendide scatole in ceramica, omaggio a quei tendoni multicolore che racchiudono i nostri sogni.

Turning a fantasy into an object to own is something incredibly beautiful. Letting the imagination run takes us into spectacular worlds, but sooner or later we have to return to reality. But if we can bring with us a piece of that world, creating a small work of art that we can see, touch and admire every day, we have made a magic. sambuco did it creating the “Circus 1768” collection. Philip Astley, the “father of the modern circus”, built the first circus track in this year. He was a militants of the 15th Light Dragoons’ Battalion, and when he left the army he began to hold equestrian outdoor shows in London. After numerous workouts he understood that the centrifugal force helped him stand on his thoroughbred horse, galloping in a circle. In 1799 he decided to put a cover on the arena and the famous and iconic circus awning bear. This is the fascinating story of how the circus born, it is the most magical show in the world. This show charms young and old people thanks to its bright colors, the thousand lights, fun games and wonderful stunts. All those exciting moments, memories and expressed desires can be enclosed in beautiful ceramic boxes, a tribute to those multicolored awning which encloses our dreams.
