La bellezza e la preziosità del lavoro artigianale sono l’espressione dell’abilità delle mani dell’uomo. Ne nascono oggetti pregiati il cui valore è durevole nel tempo. Oggi l’importanza della manifattura è stata riscoperta e l’abilità artigiana viene sempre più valorizzata. Così come accadde nella seconda metà dell’Ottocento in Inghilterra quando, nel mondo del design, si sviluppò il movimento Arts and Crafts.  Un pensiero forte, libero, talvolta un pò ironico, semplice e appagante che unisce l’uso di materiali di alta qualità alla maestria del fatto a mano. A questo trend effervescente s’ispira la collezione di Borsalino per la prossima stagione. Cappelli che vogliono incoraggiare la voglia di giocare, di osare, di esprimerci e trasformarci pur rimanendo noi stessi.

Ci sono intriganti modelli couture, impreziositi da veri e propri gioielli, che stimolano il nostro ego. Si può scegliere un cappello di feltro maculato con cinta-bustier in pizzo di cuoio. Questa è arricchita da due fibbie metalliche che riproducono una lettera “B” molto speciale, rappresenta infatti il primo logo creato per la maison, ritrovato in una foto dell’archivio di Giuseppe Borsalino. Come non innamorarsi del cappello con la tiara in ottone dorato e strass, quest’ultima può anche essere indossata separatamente come diadema. Su di un altro è stato posato uno scarabeo finemente lavorato in cristalli e jais, risalente a fine’800. E’ stata realizzata una riproduzione di un cappello medioevale con motivo a melograni ricamati a punto pieno. Troviamo anche un cappello da pittore del Rinascimento, pensato come omaggio all’imminente cinquecentenario della morte di Raffaello. Questo si può anche portare a tracolla, grazie a un’elegante collana rimovibile che richiama il legno e metallo.

Non può mancare il “bakerboy”, realizzato in lana tartan, in velluto animalier e nella versione più accattivante in vernice nera e rossa con veletta. L’intramontabile Bogart by Borsalino contiene la frase “Mai credere a un uomo che non beve”. C’è anche una sfiziosa bustina, omaggio a Karl Lagerfeld.

The beauty and preciousness of craftsmanship are the expression of the skill of the man’s hands. The result are valuable objects whose value is lasting over time. Today the importance of manufacturing has been rediscovered and the craftsmanship is increasingly being enhanced. The same happened in the second half of the nineteenth century in England when, in the world of design, the Arts and Crafts movement developed.  A strong, free, sometimes ironic, simple and fulfilling movement that combines the use of high-quality materials with the mastery of handmade. This effervescent trend inspired the Borsalino’s collection for the next season. These hats want to encourage the desire to play, to dare, to express and to transform us while remaining ourselves. There are intriguing couture models, embellished with real jewelry which stimulate our ego. We can choose a spotted felt hat with belt-bustier in leather lace. This is enriched by two metal buckles that reproduce a very special “B” letter, it represents the first logo created for the maison, found in a photo of Giuseppe Borsalino’s archive. We will fall in love with the hat with a golden tiara with rhinestones, it can also be worn separately. On another hat was laid a finely worked in crystals and jais beetle, dating back to the late 1800s. A reproduction of a medieval embroidered hat has been made with pomegranates embroidered. We also find a Renaissance painter’s hat, designed as a tribute to the upcoming five hundredth anniversary of Raphael’s death. This can also be carried over the shoulder, thanks to an elegant removable necklace that recalls wood and metal. We can’t miss the “bakerboy”, made in tartan wool, animalier velvet and in the most eye-catching black and red paint with veil version. The timeless Bogart by Borsalino contains the phrase “Never believe a man who does not drink”. There’s also a delicious sachet, a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld.
