88th Oscars® Nominations Announced

The Academy and its President, Cheryl Boone Isaac, have chosen to introduce some changes for Oscar nomination. Particularly they have conducted a review of the membership recruitment. They choose younger member and include all facets: gender, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation. The 14th of January The Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Guillermo del Toro, John Krasinski and Ang Lee announced the 88th Academy Awards® nominations.

Some of these nominations:

Best Motion Picture of the Year: The Big Short (Paramount Pictures), Bridge of Spies (Walt Disney and 20th Century Fox), Brooklyn (Fox Searchlight Pictures), Mad Max: Fury Road (Warner Bros.), The Martian (20th Century Fox), The Revenant (20th Century Fox), Room (A24), Spotlight (Open Road Films)

Achievement in Directing: The Big Short – Adam McKay, Mad Max: Fury Road – George Miller, The Revenant – Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Room – Lenny Abrahamson, Spotlight – Tom McCarthy.

Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role: Bryan Cranston (“Dalton Trumbo” in Trumbo), Matt Damon (“Mark Watney” in The Martian), Leonardo DiCaprio (“Hugh Glass” in The Revenant), Michael Fassbender (“Steve Jobs” in Steve Jobs), Eddie Redmayne (“Lili” in The Danish Girl).

Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role: Cate Blanchett (“Carol Aird” in Carol), Brie Larson (“Ma” in Room), Jennifer Lawrence (“Joy” in Joy), Charlotte Rampling (“Kate Mercer” in 45 Years), Saoirse Ronan (“Eilis” in Brooklyn).
